When a family member is suspicious of a partner
In our society it have always been the norm to carry our immediate family along in the choice of whom we intend to marry, it does not necessarily mean they dictates, choose or decides but extending the information of your intention to them, when this is done there is bound to be curiosity from the family members regarding which tribe or town, religion and denomination, age, educational back ground, exposure etc.
In as much as you have the prerogative to confidently make your choice of spouse, in most cases the undeniable influence of your family members eventually leads to the outcome of the composition of whom you marry. This sort of scenario have always played out in some families igniting an enduring feud that separate sons, daughters from parents, even siblings from each other, friends from friends. The natural influence of family members usually contradicts with the arrogant personal liberty of a person whenever it comes to marriage. In most cases the family meant well when expressing oversight or advice on choice of spouse, they want you to have the best, they felt you may not know it all unless they contribute their opinion. On the other hand as you have confidently made your choice, it won't appeal to you that your family want something else other than your had earned choice.
Imagine a situation where a family member told you that your spouse will likely cheat in the marriage maybe because of appearance, behaviour or have known him or her before, therefore advising you to rethink and maybe change your choice, you objected, opposed the idea and convinced them that your spouse will not cheat, they are supposes to respect and believe your convincing effort at the moment.
But after sometime in your marriage, that family member then confronts you with the evidence that your partner is cheating while recollecting his or her earlier advice. How will it feel to hear it from same person who opposed the marriage before. How will you assimilate such evidence and admit your earlier foul judgement.
It is always hard to get along when situations like this occur especially when your family members have special interest in your welfare and happiness. In our contemporary society today infedelity has been the highest consequent of broken marriages especially among young couples. Regretably there are stories of family members out of care, leaked informations to a couple concerning a cheating partner, which eventually destablised the marriage. Your careful reactionary effort will then determine your trust in your family and your trust in your partner.
So its damn painful when you hear that your partner is cheating especially when it comes from a family member who told you he would.
